Home Index Structure Chapter 1

The contents page is a link to each chapter of the book of Revelation.  It does not, however reveal the structure which lies behind the book.  For this you will need to view the structure page.  The index serves to locate various features of the book which may not appear in the contents page. Some terms and concepts appear throughout the book. There is more than one reference, e.g., to the "New Jerusalem"; these can be located through the index page. The references in the contents page are to chapters in the translation of the Apocalypse.  The comments are attached to the appropriate verses in the translation.

A word about the translation is in order.  This translation is a completely original translation from the Greek text of the Nestle-Aland  26th edition. It differs considerably in places from that of traditional translations.  Translation notes are appended to each chapter and can be accessed through the links within the translation.  When you have read the note, you can return to your original point by using "back" in your browser (The same is true of the comments to each verse which can be accessed by clicking on the verse number).

In conclusion let me quote two passages from the Apocalypse.  I hope you will pardon me for using my own translation.

5b

To him who loves us and looses us from our sins through his blood

6

and made us a kingdom, priests to God his father,
to him be glory forever [and ever]. Amen.

Rev. 1. 5,6

17

Both the Spirit and the Bride say, "Come:"
Let the congregation say, "Come.
Let him who is thirsty come and drink freely of the Water of Life."

Rev. 22.17
